At the Sanctuary:
Join us for a volunteer weekend up at the Milo Sanctuary in Mendocino County. The Sanctuary has 283 beautiful acres, and there are more than 200 animals (dogs and cats) who live there at any given time. May 21-22, 2011 AND June 11-12th. Email lat@milofoundation.org for more info.
Please be ready to roll up your sleeves and pitch in. You will get hot, you will get dirty, and you probably will get lots of dogs kisses and cat purrs! It's lots of fun, too. There will be time to socialize with the animals, and walk dogs, too.
The Sanctuary is located about 2.5 hours from Marin County, or 3 hours from San Francisco/East Bay. The spring and fall are beautiful times of the year to visit -- and help! Summers are hot, if you can handle that, and there are vital projects that occur in these months! Please email info@milofoundation.org.
In the Bay Area:
Foster A Dog, Puppy, Cat or Kitten
Many rescue dogs and cats simply need more one-on-one people time and routine. Dog savvy people with fenced yards, and the time to devote to an additional pet, would really be helping a longterm Milo dog by fostering for a month or so, and getting the dog primed for "real life" -- a home and a family! Foster homes are also needed for shorter time frames for cats, dogs, kittens, and puppies.
Help At Milo Marin
Our Intake, Rescue and Adoption Center at 2060 4th Street in San Rafael needs volunteers to help with animal care, in the office with answering phones, and with other administrative tasks.
Mobile Adoptions
Nearly every weekend there are mobile adoption events in the East Bay. We always need volunteers to help with set up, taking care of the critters during the events, and breaking down at the end of the day.
