Name: BERKELEY

Breed: Terrier - Wire Hair - Border Collie Mix Gender: Male Age: 1 yr. 8 mo. Birthday: 9/2011 (est) Weight: Medium (30 - 60 pounds) Milo ID: 17894
Current Location: The Milo Sanctuary |
| Berkeley is one handsome dapper fellow. Just about 40 pounds of scruffiness. He loves water and playing in wading pools to cool off - we haven't had the opportunity to see him with larger bodies of water - but he's likely to be a very happy beach dog!! Playful, but not hyper - he loves to give hugs, and is very affectionate and clingy with his person - he'd like to be a lap dog - but we are working on that - and many other things!
Berkeley has some herding charectaristics which are evedent when he is running at teh dog park - and he has to wear a muzzle in public places - both because he gets over amped with other dogs and does not have enough bite inhibition. But with the basket muzzle on he can run and play chase all he wants and everyone has a good time. He listens, has very good recall running back to you and sitting. He could do well on a ranch or farm with minimal social requirements and following his person around doing chores - though he is not great with cats or likely chickens....!
He errs on the side of dominant male - he arrived along with a female in full blown heat and another intact male - so it's no wonder he did a bit of grumbling and posturing - he developed some leash aggression when in a home - he needs a dog savvy handler, a good amount of exercise - no kids.....

Name: JUNIPER

Species: Goat Gender: Male Age: 12 yrs. 4 mo. Birthday: 1/2001 Milo ID: 17634 Current Location: The Milo Sanctuary |
| Juniper came to us with his Aunt and Cousin after their mom could no longer afford to feed them. Juniper does have horns but is friendly with other goats and horses. He will occasionally chase another goat away from the food, but this is easily remedied by having it in two piles. Juniper did some training as a pack goat for the first part of his life but was given back to the original family as he was becoming very depressed as an only goat. They are heard animals and we would love to find him a home with his Aunt Chloe, but will consider adopting out separately to a home with other friendly goats. Please send applications to sanctuary@milofoundation.org |

Species: Goat Gender: Female Age: 12 yrs. 4 mo. Birthday: 1/2001 Milo ID: 17633 Current Location: The Milo Sanctuary |
| Chloe is a very sweet natured, friendly and easy going girl who bonds well with other goats and horses alike. She came to us with her daughter and nephew when her mom ran out of money to care for them. We would love to find a home for Chloe where she can get the human attention that she was accustomed to in her past home with another barnyard companion. We would love to find her a home with her nephew Juniper, but will consider separating to great homes if need be. Please send applications to sanctuary@milofoundation.org |

Species: Goat Gender: Female Age: 12 yrs. 4 mo. Birthday: 1/2001 Milo ID: 17632 Current Location: The Milo Sanctuary |
| Maddie Lightning AKA Bug, is in need of a special person to work with her. She was given up by her former mom because she did not have enough money to feed them any longer, but Bug will not adjust to the change. She does have horns and she knows how to use them. Bug is distrustful of people and even though you can see that she wants to interact with you, she can quickly get spooked and change her mind. We are putting out a plea for goat people who have dealt with this before to contact us if they are willing to work with her or have a field where she can live out her life without the risk of causing harm to others. Please send any offers for help with this confused, heartbroken and unfortunately hostile girl to sanctuary@milofoundation.org |
Name: BRUCE

Breed: Border Collie Mix Gender: Male Age: 2 yrs. 10 mo. Birthday: 7/2010 (est) Weight: Medium (30 - 60 pounds) Milo ID: 17601
Current Location: The Milo Sanctuary |
| Bruce is a handsome chunk of love! He is an active boy who loves long walks and hikes, as well as plenty of love and stimulation to burn off some of that border collie energy! He is an extremely intelligent dog with great potential. He listens well and is eager to please. He can be pretty mouthy when playing but has no intention of biting. In fact, he does a funny lip curl when he's playing, which can make him took a bit ferocious. But, don't worry, its all a front to make him look tough! He gets along well with other dogs, but can be a bit macho with some male dogs. Bruce is best friends with our Kelpy pup Iris and they have a blast rolling around in the backyard! If you are looking for a active sweetheart, and preferably have experience with herding breeds, BRUCE IS YOUR MAN! |
Name: IRIS

Breed: Kelpy Mix Gender: Female Age: 1 yr. 4 mo. Birthday: 1/2012 (est) Weight: Medium (30 - 60 pounds) Milo ID: 17540
Current Location: The Milo Sanctuary |
| "Iris, she’s a little girl with a big presence! Part Doberman part Kelpie and part ??? Iris is curious, talkative, energetic, smart, lovable and did I mention alpha? Her heart’s as good as doggie gold and she is devoted and loving through and through. For those in her circle, she’s a champion cuddler with soft kisses. Iris loves to meet other dogs but needs her own people more. She really needs her exercise and will benefit from a little more training, especially when it comes to visitors dropping by the house. They can expect a barky reception. It’s not so much barking from fear, it’s more like barking orders! That’s the herder in her and she’s wired to be a working dog. Iris hates being in a crate and displays separation distress when she senses it’s time to get in. For this reason and others mentioned above, Iris needs a work from home parent or two who are outdoorsy, active types, willing to include her in their outings and keep her near them when at home. Another dog who can model best practices and provide her company wouldn’t hurt. Did I mention she’s a quick study? Any agility trainers out there? " |
